Prague police chief arrested on bribery allegations

The police's Organized Crime Unit has arrested Prague Muncipal Police Chief Vladimír Kotrouš (pictured)
after allegations he took a bribe worth "hundreds of thousands of crowns" related to a contract for servicing police cars. Kotrouš was detained Nov. 25, reportedly with the bribe money in hand while driving his official vehicle. A judge has ordered he remain in custody so as to prevent him from influencing potential witnesses. Kotrouš faces between five and 12 years in prison if convicted.
